 The "RIME" Method of Resident and Student Evaluation

What I want you to remember is the rhythm, observation, reflection, action, assessment, whatever you call them, reporting, interpreting, managing. You have progressively higher levels of expectations, and what you get from using a word like reporter is that the students and the faculty are able to visualize what you mean by them. It's concrete enough that when you say, I want you to be a consistent interpreter, somebody can visualize success, they know what it looks like, it's not a generic term like skills, knowledge and attitude. Or a term like advanced, beginner or proficient, or intuitive master. You see what I mean? Those things are generic terms. The RIME scheme, in addition to being developmental and synthetic, is a little more concrete. It's a little more behaviorally based.All right, that's the gist. We've finished the ten as planned.
