Dr. Mulligan received his dental school education at Temple University School of Dentistry. He then completed both an internship as well as residency training in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Temple University Hospital. During residency training, rotation were completed in general surgery, plastic surgery, neurosurgery as well as trauma surgery. He attained Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the American Board of Dental Anesthesia. He is an active member in both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Joseph Mulligan is a faculty member with the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at both Temple University Medical Center and Cooper Medical Center. He provides coverage at numerous level 1 trauma centers in the Philadelphia tri-state area. He has spent his career surgically treating patients who have suffered devastating injuries to the face.
