This final slide here is looking at the models of transplant. The old paradigm, was patients who have ESRD get started on some form of dialysis and then eventually get referred to a transplant center. Where we need to aim, is patients are getting referred to a transplant center at stage 4 CKD. They get an initial preemptive evaluation, if they have a living donor, great, if not, they get evaluated and hopefully get placed on the waiting list at an appropriate time. And at the same time, if they're undergoing other preparations for dialysis, if that would become unnecessary. |
